Fixed fee, percentage of assets or commission

How an adviser is paid shapes the advice. A SEBI Registered Investment Adviser is paid by the client, either a fixed fee or a percentage of the assets they advise on. A distributor or agent is paid commission by the product provider for what they sell.

Questions about the fee

What is a fixed-fee, fee-only financial planner?

A SEBI Registered Investment Adviser who is paid only by the client, as one fixed fee, rather than by commissions on products or a percentage of your portfolio. SahajMoney charges ₹15,000 for the first year and ₹7,500 a year to renew, both including GST.

Does the fee depend on the size of my portfolio?

No. We follow a fixed-fee model and do not charge AUM-based fees, product commissions, referral fees or hidden charges.

Is the fee per person or per couple?

Per couple, including dependent children and parents. If you prefer to work separately from your spouse or partner, there are two separate fees.

What does the first-year fee include?

A written financial plan within 2 weeks of your approving the initial analysis, 2 video meetings, a review at 6 months and email support throughout the 12 months.

What happens after the first year?

Renewal is voluntary and costs ₹7,500, including GST, for a further 12 months. It covers portfolio reviews, rebalancing recommendations where needed and ongoing support.

Will you invest my money for me?

No. We do not place transactions or hold client money. Your plan includes direct product links, and you invest through the platform of your choice, keeping control of your accounts.

How is a SEBI Registered Investment Adviser different from a mutual fund distributor?

A registered adviser is paid by you for advice. A distributor is paid commission by the fund house or insurer for the products sold to you.
