Abhishek Kumar pointed out that the choice of financiers may be limited and billing disputes can arise from telematics data. He suggested an RBI-regulated financier and said the model may not suit high-mileage, long-term owners.

Business Standard examines Battery as a Service, where an electric vehicle is bought without its battery and the owner pays a recurring, usually per-kilometre, fee for it. The model lowers the upfront price and shifts battery risk, but minimum charges, contract terms, financier dependence and resale doubts can raise the total cost.
